Every spring, the peonies return until inevitably they're demolished by a rogue May storm. But before that, they're raucous, ebullient bushed with blossoms the size of a fireman's fist. So gorgeous.
This is from my "Midwestern Nice" series, which depicts near-past nostalgia and sensory memories of rural and suburban Midwest experiences.
