Several studs made the jump to the JCCC hood while others headed to JCCC land of the west. A few were more than lucky to nab an athletic scholarship while the rest had to settle for a nice albeit expensive box. As the aforementioned acolytes made the trek westward, one senior was left behind. It was a lonely one for most. The good news is that he was lucky enough to be paired with a few of his peers. A few years later, he’s now a junior at JCCC.
Despite being left out of the starting gate, Hallet was on the cusp of a roster spot. It was an enviable task but his luck was rewarded in the end. Fortunately, he was also lucky to have a jovial coach who was more than happy to share his booze with.

Head coach Kyle Smithpeters tells his team to aim high and keep on pushing when they reach a fork in the road. A good fall semester, including a 5-2 record and a trip to the NJCAA Midwest District tournament, showed that the school is on the right path.
As a junior, Sloan earned second-team Courier Journal All-State honors. He started his career at Taylor County, and later moved on to Moore as an eighth-grader. During his sophomore and junior years, he played setter, and he also earned all-conference honors.
Last summer, Scrubb worked with mentors Sloan and Patterson at John Logan, and he hopes to return. He has been drawing interest from schools such as Kansas State, Missouri and Wichita State. He has been unable to qualify academically to play in the NCAA, but he will continue his studies at Logan.
