9 x 12, oil on linen.  I’ve been working on finishing up some commissions, and this is one of them.  Teeny self portrait again!  This is the happiest painting I ever made, btw…  very bright, the flower in full-face toward the sun, the golden one shyly emerging….  The petals are practically pluckable.
I don’t mind telling you, I’ve been spending a lot of time on my paintings, pushing a lot farther and going for not just an “object” but a “story.”  Even if it’s a subtle story…  This one is about optimism.

Amazing work Lisa. I bet your client is thrilled.

  2. Lisa I saw this on DP and had to see it on your blog: It’s really really nice. I LOVE this direction you are taking– taking more time and really lingering there with your subjects. WONDERFUL!!

This is just exquisite… the delicate lighting, soft vs reflective textures, palette, etc. It’s so easy on the eyes. Bravo.
